In collaboration with WHO and the Ministry of Health launched ‘Homapak’ a sulfadoxine pyrimethamine + chloroquine combination therapy formulated in age-specific single-use dosage packs for children between the age of 2 months and 5 years. This has been the flagship brand in the Home Based Management of Fever strategy launched in the same year which resulted in an increase in children receiving treatment within 24 hours from 7.3% in 2001 to 55% nationally by the year 2005.
